Frequently asked questions
How does AI-assisted comic identification work?
The scanner uses details from the cover and comic-catalog information to suggest an identification. Barcode information can help narrow a match where available. Review the title, issue, publisher, year, and edition before saving; automated identification is not guaranteed.
How often are market values updated?
Estimates do not update on a guaranteed schedule. Pro members can run Market Calibration to refresh estimates in batches. Treat the results as research estimates, not a verified real-time price feed.
Is my collection private, and can I share an individual comic?
Vault records are private by default, and private Vault totals are not publicly visible. To share an eligible comic, make its record public and use the share option on its detail page. Review the information included before sharing; other private entries remain private.
How can I export my collection, and which format should I use?
Use the export options in your account settings: - CSV: A broadly compatible inventory file for spreadsheets. - JSON: A native Comic Books Vault backup that preserves richer record data for later import. - Google Sheets: A cloud spreadsheet for viewing, sorting, or sharing outside the Vault. This requires Google sign-in and authorization. Choose JSON for a native backup. Use CSV or Google Sheets when you want to work with your inventory in a spreadsheet.
